The Glenrothes

The Glenrothes 40 YO

In 2019, The Glenrothes released an unrepeatable, limited edition whisky which had matured in cask since December 1978. The whisky marked a moment in history for The Glenrothes with 594 bottles being sold via an online ballot. I was commissioned to create a series of moodshots which reflected the notion of distillery doors being opened and light illuminating the bottle, as if for the first time since 1978 - a momentous, historic moment.

The Glenrothes 50 YO &
The 50th of 50

In 2020, The Glenrothes released it's oldest whisky to date. A few months later, the brand embellished its 50th decanter in rare, solid Scottish gold, hand crafted by Hamilton and Inches. The bottle was auctioned for £39,000 and the proceeds given to a charity chosen by the buyer.
I was commissioned to create packshot photography of the non-embellished 50 YO, as well as striking imagery of the intricate gold detailing on the 50th decanter to commemorate the marriage between Scottish whisky and gold ahead of the auction.
